Lew directs ThinkFire’s IP consulting services and helps clients to develop IP business strategies, perform buy and sell-side due diligence and execution for major M&A transactions, evaluate and value licensing and brokering opportunities, benchmark industry best practices, and develop defensive licensing strategies and tactics. Lew serves clients and evaluates M&A targets around the world, from the US to Western Europe, Japan, Korea and China.
Lew has worked extensively across the technology industry and has significant experience in several areas:
- Wireless Devices- Served 4 of 5 largest firms, as well as several others
- Investment Funds- Served 5 of the world’s largest funds in evaluating and executing transactions valued in excess of $25 billion, including several complex carve-outs
- Semiconductor- Served several major firms including fabless, foundry, and IDM players
- Computing Equipment- Served 3 of the largest firms, as well as several others
- Network Equipment- Served 2 of the largest network equipment firms
Prior to joining ThinkFire, Lew served as a Principal in Silicon Valley luminary Regis McKenna’s strategy consulting firm. For McKenna, he led strategy development for clients in telecom services and equipment, software, security and consumer electronics and investment due diligence for venture capital and private equity funds across the US and Europe. Prior to joining McKenna, Lew worked in the telecom strategy practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the technology practice at Accenture. He holds an MBA from Duke University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
