Tony supports ThinkFire’s IP advisory services and helps clients develop IP business strategies, perform due diligence on investment opportunities, evaluate and value licensing and brokering opportunities, and develop defensive licensing strategies and tactics. He has worked extensively in the areas of wireless/wireline communications and semiconductor industries, including engagements involving determining patent essentiality to 3G/4G wireless standards, assembling defensive patent strategies, IP monetization, and IP due diligence for client M&A activities. Additional engagements span IP valuation, IP strategy and best practices, and buy-side and sell-side patent brokering.
Prior to joining ThinkFire, Tony was a founder of XIT Tech Consulting, Inc. where he led an eight-person team in developing silicon IP for wireless communications clients. Tony comes from a semiconductor and communications product development background where he has managed the development of cutting-edge technologies for more than 20 years prior to joining ThinkFire. Specific products and technologies where Tony led and managed silicon IP and systems product development include CDMA and DSL chip sets, the Sirius digital satellite radio receiver, DSP & VLIW processors, satellite communications, and a variety of telecommunication systems. He derived his consulting experience through XIT Tech and Synopsys Professional Services, and product development experience at Bell Laboratories, Conexant Systems, and TRW.
Tony spent seven years as an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology teaching courses in Digital Signal Processing and Communications Systems. Tony was a TRW fellow at the University of Southern California where he obtained an M.S.E.E. degree, a graduate from New Jersey Institute of Technology where he obtained a B.S.E.E degree with honors, and more recently has taken courses in financial analysis at Boston University.
