David Zimmerman

David has over twenty years experience as a software professional both in academia and industry and has led the development of licensing opportunities in numerous technology areas including electro-mechanical systems, enterprise, OS and application software, computers, gaming systems, displays, printers, mobile devices and optical systems. He is an expert in the analysis of patents and patent portfolios, the development of claim charts for patent assertions and counter-assertions, the assertion of patents at the negotiating table, and the rebuttal of claim charts presented by adversaries.
Prior to joining ThinkFire, David was Chief Technology Officer with YOUpowered, a permission-based personalization software company. In this role, David led the YOUpowered research and development effort and coordinated patent prosecution. In addition to his experience in commercial software development, David was involved in large scale distributed database development for High Energy Nuclear Physics applications while a post-doctoral researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He holds a doctorate and a master’s degree in Experimental Particle Physics from Boston University as well as a B.A. from Rutgers University. David is currently a Dean’s Merit Scholar in the Rutgers Law School.
